Chill may increase in Uttarakhand, chances of rain and snowfall in hilly areas
The weather is dry in Uttarakhand, but partly cloudy sky has started forming at some places. At present, the temperature in the state remains normal. There is respite from the sun during the day, but frost in the mountains and fog in the plains are adding to the woes. Due to which the cold conditions continues in the morning and evening.
According to the Meteorological Center, the weather may remain dry in the plains for the next few days, whereas, it may remain partly to mainly cloudy in the hilly areas. Due to this there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall.
After the first fortnight of January remained dry in the state, the weather pattern has changed in the last few days. However, frost and fog in the morning and evening are definitely increasing the problem. Due to which the night time journey should be avoided.
On Wednesday, in capital Dehradun it was partly cloudy in the morning. According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, fresh Western Disturbance is becoming active in the state. Because of which the weather patterns may change for the next few days.
Clouds are expected to stay, especially in the mountainous areas. Light to moderate rain and snowfall may occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh. There are chances of snowfall in the areas with a height of more than 3000 meters. During this, a drop in temperature can also be recorded.
