Dehradun Nagar Nigam increases garbage collection charges from April 1

The Municipal Corporation Dehradun has increased the user charge (service fee) for door-to-door garbage collection. The category-wise increased rates will be implemented from coming April 1. Also, now cashless fee will be collected from business establishments.

The corporation has become strict after receiving complaints about collecting garbage charges in the name of the corporation. A complaint has also been given to the police against the unknown in this matter. At the same time, from April 1, arrangements are being made for payment only on the basis of confirmed bills.

Charges increased between two to five times

Nigar Nigam Dehradun has increased the charges from double to five times in different establishment category. The fee being charged for door-to-door garbage collection being charged from residential housesĀ  has also been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 70 per month. On Thursday, Municipal Commissioner Manuj Goyal gave information about the new rates effective from April 1 in a press conference. User charges have been increased according to different businesses and establishments.

Municipal Commissioner Manuj Goyal said that the case of collection of garbage collection fee from the houses by making fake receipts in the name of the corporation has come to the notice of the corporation. Complaints of this type of recovery have been received in the Court Road area. In view of this, Chief City Health Officer Avinash Khanna has given a complaint to the City Kotwali police demanding action.

Fixed bill will be issued from POS

Arrangements are being made by the corporation to collect the fees by issuing firm bills through Point of Sale (POS) machines. Cash will not be taken from commercial establishments from April 1. Fee will be collected through POS, Online, Cheque-Draft etc. modes only.
