Kedarnath heli booking: All tickets for phase 1 booked on opening day
This year, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the passengers for the heli services regarding the Kedarnath Dham Yatra. It can be gauged from the fact that as soon as the booking of heli services for Kedarnath Dham started, all the tickets for the first phase i.e. from April 25 to April 30 have been sold.
Now the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Council (UCADA) will soon decide the date of booking of tickets for the second phase. Meanwhile, UCADA will try to resolve the technical issues encountered during booking.
The doors of Kedarnath will open on April 25.
Last year, 1.36 lakh devotees visited Kedarnath through heli services. This was the largest number in terms of heli services. During this, it came to notice that there was a lot of pressure on the department for on the spot (Phata, Sirsi and Guptkashi) booking of heli services. This year eight heli companies have been allowed to operate heli services from nine helipads located in these three places.
Looking at the experience of last year, this year this booking is being done through IRCTC. The doors of Kedarnath are opening on 25 April. In view of this, UCADA has opened bookings for the first phase from 25 to 30 April. This booking started from Saturday.
Devotees and tour operators started booking as soon as the booking site opened. By afternoon, 6263 tickets had been booked through 2673 bookings till April 30. Now booking of 30 percent tickets for Tatkal booking only will be done from April 24, a day before the opening of the doors.
Chief executive UCADA C Ravi Shankar said that all the tickets till April 30 were sold out on the first day itself. Now soon booking will be started for further dates. The date of commencement of booking will be shared soon.
