Kedarnath heli service: Over 5000 tickets booked for May 1 and 2; all slots full
On Tuesday, 5275 tickets were booked for Kedarnath heli service in a single day. As soon as the IRCTC portal opened, there was a scramble for online ticket booking. All tickets for the journey from May 1 to 2 are full. Despite trying for several hours, many people were unable to book tickets.
IRCTC portal opened for booking of heli tickets at 12 noon on Tuesday. Due to which booking of heli tickets was done for the journey from 1st to 7th May. Pilgrims going to Kedarnath by helicopter in Chardham Yatra were eagerly waiting for the portal to open.
As soon as the portal opened, all the slots got filled within a few hours. Due to which many devotees could not book tickets. Many people somehow reached the payment mode after trying for two to three hours, by then the slots were full.
Heli tickets were booked for the journey from May 1 to 7 on Tuesday. 5275 heli tickets were booked in a single day. Complete transparency is being adopted in booking of heli tickets. To prevent black marketing of tickets, IRCTC has been given the responsibility of ticket booking this time.
