Lockdown effect? Delhi records lowest Corona cases since April 12

13,336 new patients have been confirmed and the infection rate is 21.67 percent as per today’s health bulletin of New Delhi. The Health Department said that the lowest number of cases have come since April 12.

According to government data, the infection rate is the lowest since April 16, when it was 19.7 percent. During the last 24 hours, 13,336 new infections have been identified in Delhi. With this, the total number of cases in the state has increased to 13,23,567. Lockdown is also believed to be one of the reasons for the decrease. At the same time, 273 people have died due to the virus in the last 24  hours. While, 14,738 people have recovered during this period.

So far, 12,17,991 people have returned home from the hospital after recovering from the virus. The number of active cases in the state has gone up to 86,232. According to the Health Bulletin issued by the Government of Delhi, out of total 22,545 beds in hospitals of the capital, 2,633 beds are empty. The number of people living in home isolation in Delhi is 52263.

Lockdown extended by 7 days

The lockdown has been extended once again in Delhi. The Delhi Metro service will also be suspended during this lockdown. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that the lockdown in Delhi has been extended for 7 days. During this time, Delhi Metro services will be suspended. The CM said that there will be strictness in this lockdown. He said that there is no time to relax. If  relaxations are given, then the situation will be bad. So the lockdown is being extended till next week. The period of lockdown applicable in Delhi has been extended till five o’clock on the morning of next Monday (May 17).
