Now old age, widow, disabled pension to be given every month in Uttarakhand

More than 7,85,000 old age, widow and disabled pensioners of the state will not have to wait for pension for four months each. Now pension will come in their accounts on the first date of every month. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued instructions in this regard. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anand Bardhan has called a meeting and instructed the officers to take immediate action in this regard.

Every pensioner gets a pension of Rs 1500 every month under social security in the state. This pension is sent to their accounts through the Social Welfare Department. The pension amount from the government goes to the Social Welfare Department and then the department sends it to the pensioners’ account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through Directorate and District Social Welfare Officers.

This process takes a lot of time, due to which pensioners get pension after three to four months. Many pensioners have to wait even longer. Many such complaints have come to the notice of the Chief Minister. This is the reason that during the review meeting of Helpline 1905 on Tuesday, he issued instructions in this regard to the officials. At the same time, the Chief Minister has also given instructions to release the scholarship to the children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes on a monthly basis.

April pension will be released till May 15

Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, ACS Finance Anand Bardhan held a meeting with the officials of Social Welfare, Education and Finance Departments. It was decided in the meeting that the pension for April would be released by May 15. May’s pension will be received on June 1. Instructions were given to make arrangement for release of pension on the first date of every month. Coordination will be made between the IT cell of the Social Welfare Department and the Integrated Finance Management System (IFMS) to send the pension amount directly to the account.
