Keeping in sync with today’s social media, Uttarakhand police will also be seen awakening the youth on the mobile video app TikTok. For this, the police have joined hands with the TikTok company. The company has also started a TikTok account of Uttarakhand Police.
Through the video, the police will inform the youth about avoiding drugs, following traffic rules and other rules and regulations. Director General of Police (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar said that it will be tried for a few days. During this time, awareness videos will be prepared and broadcast through TikTok. If the trial is successful, it will be used on a large scale. He said that as TikTok is prevalent among the youth, the police has chosen this medium.
He said that the matter of youth will be presented in their own style, so that they can understand it better. Till now, suggestions have been sent by the police through posters, Facebook, Twitter etc.
TikTok’s Director of Public Policy (India) Nitin Saluja said “it was a good experience to join the Uttarakhand police. We will try for a better change in society through TikTok”.
