Lakshya Sen enters semi-finals of Thailand Open 2023
India’s star badminton player Lakshya Sen has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Thailand Open in Bangkok, while rising star Kiran George had to face defeat in the quarter-final.
21-year-old Lakshya has reached the final-four stage of this championship for the first time. He defeated Malaysia’s Leong Jun Hao 21-19, 21-11 in the quarters, while his compatriot Kiran George lost in the quarterfinals.
Sen won in straight games
Lakshya Sen will play his first semi-final of the season. Lakshya Sen was out of form at the start of the season after winning the Thomas Cup but came up with a stellar show at the Thailand Open. Lakshya registered a 2-game win over Leong Jun Hao in the quarter-finals.
In the first game, Lakshya took an early lead of 10-11. After some time the score of both became equal at 17-17. Lakshya made a brilliant comeback and showed a swft game and won the game 21-19. The second game of the match was in favor Lakshya. He won the easy game 21–11.
