Interstate bus services to resume in Uttarakhand in Unlock 5

The state government has allowed the operation of buses and other passenger vehicles on interstate routes. The government has also made it clear that passengers will be accommodated in buses according to the prescribed capacity. Traveling while standing will not be allowed. Passengers will be charged fares already decided by the State Transport Authority. Along with this, the government has abolished the order of putting fifty percent passengers in buses and doubling the fare with immediate effect. At the same time, the Transport Corporation has decided to operate buses from Wednesday 30 September after the issuance of SOP.

The state government had so far prohibited transportation services to other states due to Corona infection. Due to this, passengers from other states were facing a lot of trouble in coming and going. Now the government has issued standard operating procedure (SOP) in respect of their fares, along with allowing interstate operations. This SOP issued by Chief Secretary Omprakash states that public services (private and government buses) have also been allowed to operate on interstate routes.

Uttarakhand Transport Corporation in coordination with corporations of other states will operate a maximum of 100 trips per day in the first phase. Bus taxi cabs, three wheelers, auto-Vikram, e-rickshaws on interdistrict and inter-state routes will be operated as per prescribed capacity. Vehicle owners and drivers have to completely sanitize the vehicles before starting the journey and after the journey is over.

Bus service to other states from Uttarakhand will start from September 30. The special thing is that the fare being charged before the corona period has been reimposed. The order has ended a previously issued order to increase the fare one and a half times during the Corona period. The state government on Monday released the Standard Operating Method (SOP) for this.

No extra fare in any case

The fare is determined by the State Transport Authority in the vehicle owner, driver and operator buses and public transport. In no case will the fare be more than the prescribed rates. The mandate of June 23, 2020 relating to one and a half times the fare during the coronary period has been ended with immediate effect.
