Harela 2023: Public holiday on this day

Respecting public sentiments, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions to declare Harela festival as a public holiday in the state on July 17 instead of July 16. The festival of Harela is also being celebrated in the state on July 17.

As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, a mandate in this regard has been issued by Secretary General Administration Vinod Kumar Suman. It has been clarified in the issued mandate that July 16, 2023 (Sunday) was declared a holiday for Harela festival in the state. It has been learned through various mediums that Harela festival is being celebrated on July 17, 2023 instead of July 16, 2023.

The mandate stated that after making partial amendments in the above notification, instead of July 16, 2023 (Sunday), July 17, 2023 (Monday) is declared a public holiday for Harela festival. Bank/treasury and sub-treasuries will also have a holiday on the said date.
