Uttarakhand weather update: IMD alert on heavy rain in 7 districts for next 3-4 days

The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for heavy rain at some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Haridwar and Udhamsinghnagar for the state for Thursday. This alert may continue till 14th and on 15th and 16th, there may be further increase in rain and there may be heavy to very heavy rains at some places.

The rains are expected to continue for the next four to five days. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Department, said that light to moderate rain would occur at most places in the entire state on Thursday. Along with lightning at some places, there may be several rounds of heavy to very heavy rain.

The rain will continue like this till July 16. After that, there is no significant change in the rain situation for the next two days as well. In view of the rains, the Meteorological Department has warned to stay away from the river banks, it was advised not to travel during rains, landslides, rock slides, water logging in low-lying areas. On the other hand, on Wednesday, it rained heavily at places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Narendranagar, Dunda, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Bharsar, Thalisain, Satpuli, Lansdowne, Ranikhet, Devidhura etc. in the state.

After several days of continuous rain in Dehradun, the temperature has also dropped. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky in Doon will be partly to generally cloudy on Thursday. One or two rounds of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thundershowers. Heavy rain may also occur in some areas. The maximum temperature will be 30 and the minimum will be 23 degree Celsius.
