Indian men’s 4x400m relay team breaks Asian record at World Athletics Championships 2023

The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team broke the Asian record by clocking 2:59.05 in the heats of the event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest.

The Indian team has also qualified for the finals in the heats between 9 teams. The final of the Men’s 4x400m relay will be played today i.e. on August 27 at 1 am IST.

The team broke the Asian as well as the national record. In the 2020 Olympics, Mohammad Anas, Noah Nirmal Tom, Arokia Rajeev and Amoj Jacob had set a national record of 3:00.25.

The previous Asian record was 2:59.51 seconds

In the men’s 4x400m relay, the Indian team broke the Asian record as well as the national record. The previous Asian record was 2:59.51 set by Japan in Oregon last year. At the same time, the previous national record was made in Tokyo Olympics 2020, which was 3:00.25 seconds.

US ranked first

The Indian team of Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal and Rajesh Ramesh finished second among nine teams in Budapest, Hungary on Saturday. USA finished first with a time of 2:58.47 seconds.
