National Games Goa 2023: Suraj Panwar wins Gold for Uttarakhand in 20 km racewalk

Suraj Panwar has won the gold medal for Uttarakhand in 20 kilometer race walk. This was the second gold for Uttarakhand at the 37th National Games being held in Goa. He completed this race in one hour and 27 minutes. Earlier on Saturday , Penchak Silat Nikhil Bharti player from Uttarakhand had won the gold medal. Uttarakhand now has a total of 8 medals in the National Games. This gold medal of Suraj Panwar is also important for Uttarakhand because Suraj is an Olympic Games athlete. An Olympic Games player bringing a gold medal in the National Games is a big achievement for Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand has so far won 8 medals in the National Games within four days. Of these, two gold medals, one silver medal and five bronze medals have been won by the athletes of the state. Maharashtra dominates the table with 111 medals that includes 46 Golds.
