GIS 2023: Schools and colleges to remain closed for two days in Dehradun

College and school teachers have been put on duty in the two-day Global Investors Summit to be held in the capital Doon. In such a situation, all the schools, Anganwadi centers and higher educational institutions of four blocks of the district will remain closed during these two days. On 8th and 9th December, holiday has been declared in all government, non-government and private schools under Municipal Corporation Dehradun and development blocks Sahaspur, Doiwala, Raipur, and Vikasnagar area.

In the letter issued by the Chief Education Officer of Dehradun, it was said that the route of the investor conference has been changed keeping the security in mind. There are many schools and colleges on these routes. In such a situation, to save the students and parents from any trouble, an order for two days leave has been issued. All schools, Anganwadi centers and higher educational institutions of Doiwala, Raipur, Sahaspur and Vikasnagar blocks of the district will remain closed today and tomorrow. Chief Education Officer Pradeep Kumar said, in this regard, instructions have been given to the Block Education Officer and Deputy Education Officer of all the four blocks.

Traffic to be diverted

The traffic police has already announced the implementation of traffic diversion in the areas around the venue FRI. Due to this, traffic will be diverted on Chakrata Road and surrounding areas. Police have appealed to avoid going towards Chakrata Road unless it is absolutely necessary.
