Uttarakhand weather: Rain and strong winds forecast in many parts , Orange alert issued
The weather has deteriorated in many parts of the state since this morning. It rained in many districts and it was cloudy in many places. According to the Meteorological Department, winds can blow at a speed of 70 km in the state today. Gusty winds along with light rain were predicted at many places in the state on June 18-19.
In many districts of Garhwal and Kumaon including Gangotri, the process of rain is going on since morning. An orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for gusty winds, light rain, strong thunder and lightning in the state on Sunday.
Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Centre, said, light rain with gusty winds are expected at many places in the state on June 18-19. Advising, people should stay at safe places instead of staying in the open during bad weather.
Weather in Uttarakhand places
It started raining in Gangotri Dham, thick clouds covered the district headquarters. Cloudy skies were present in Rishikesh with chances of rain. Light drizzle was seen in Tehri while overcast conditions were there in capital Dehradun since morning.
