Uttarakhand government issues SOP for reopening schools for class 10 & 12

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash has issued SOP from November 2 for opening of schools for 10th and 12th board candidates. Schools will open with several new standards under instructions issued by the Chief Secretary. Schools will be completely sanitized before the school opens. Besides, strict instructions have also been given to ensure this process regularly after every shift.

Instructions have been given by the Chief Secretary to ensure the provision of sanitizer handwash, thermal screening and first aid in schools. If a student, teacher or other person has a coughing cold, fever symptoms, they will be sent home after giving first aid. Students will be allowed in the school only after conducting handwash or hand sanitization.

Compliance of social distancing will be ensured at the main gate at the time of admission and at school. All students will not be left simultaneously. If there is more than one entrance in the school then their use will be ensured. Vehicles will be sanitized daily if students arrive in school buses and public vehicles from school. Seating in buses will be arranged with social distancing.

It will be mandatory for all teachers, pupils and other employees of schools to wear masks. Additional amount of masks will be made available by the school management. The students will be ensured to sit in a distance of 6 feet. The system of online classes will be continued unchanged. It will also be encouraged. Students who do not have online reading facility will be called to school on priority basis.

If a student wants to study online, it will be the responsibility of the school concerned to provide the facility. If necessary to make the student numbers and social distancing, the schools should be run in two shifts. In view of the school’s student numbers and social distancing, if necessary, students should be called up to 50 percent of room capacity in a day. Arrangements will be made to call 50 percent students the next day.

Students will be called for classes only after the written consent of their parents or guardians. Flexible approach will be adopted for school attendance. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to follow all instructions seriously.
