Hail, Snowfall likely in Uttarakhand from Sunday

Uttarakhand may receive snowfall in the higher Himalayan regions from Sunday. There are chances of rain in the lower areas. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the active western disturbance in the state, the weather may change after Christmas.

Temperatures have been one to two degrees Celsius above normal for a few days in Uttarakhand, which had been reeling under the bitter cold a fortnight ago. Its effect is visible on the weather. Almora was the coldest in the state. The minimum temperature was recorded at 0.7 degrees Celsius. Bikram Singh, director of the State Meteorological Center, said that weather will provide relief in the state for a day or two. The temperature will remain near normal till Friday.
