Pre-monsoon showers in Mussoorie and Dehradun bring much relief from heat

Rains in Mussoorie including the capital Dehradun gave relief to people from the heat. The Meteorological Center Uttarakhand had issued an orange alert for strong winds with light rain in most parts of the state including Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Champawat on June 19. Which proved to be accurate.

After a long wait of May-June, heavy rains were expected in Uttarakhand today. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, an orange alert for rain and storm was issued across the state on Wednesday. The center had said that there are chances of rain with strong storm in Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Champawat districts. The mood of the weather changed after noon and dark clouds started covering up the city with rains in some areas.

Strong winds will blow at a speed of 80 kilometers in these districts. While in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, there are chances of rain with thunder and gusty winds blowing at a speed of 40-50 kmph. Similar situation will prevail in Tehri and Almora districts.

Pre-monsoon rain is very important to get relief from the scorching heat, but this season, record-breaking heat was recorded due to lack of rain except for one or two days. But today’s rain will not only provide relief from the heat but will also reduce the temperature. Meteorologists say that due to the delay in pre-monsoon rains, this time the hot winds scorched for more days.
