India won the Asian Champions Trophy for the 5th time, defeating China 1-0 in the final

The final match of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy was played on Tuesday between the Indian men’s hockey team and China. In this thrilling match, India defeated China 1-0 and captured this trophy for the second consecutive time. The Indian hockey team has won the Asian Champions Trophy for a record 5th time.

India made a fast start

The Indian team, which reached the title match by performing brilliantly throughout the tournament and winning all 6 matches, made a fast start in the final match. India made tremendous attacks on China and made many moves quickly. But, it failed to penetrate the strong defense of China. China’s strong defense line played amazingly right from the beginning and made India yearn to score a goal.

The score remained 0-0 till half time

The world number-5 Indian team, the bronze medalist of Paris Olympics 2024, was surprised by the world’s number 14 team China with their game in the final match. India made every effort to score a goal but China’s defenders, especially their goalkeeper, denied India from scoring a goal. By half time, India got 5 penalty corners, but it failed to put even one in the goal post. The score remained 0-0 till half time.

India scored a goal in the fourth quarter

India made several strong attacks on China in the fourth quarter to score a goal. After continuous efforts, India finally got success. In the 51st minute, India’s star player Jugraj Singh opened India’s account by scoring a brilliant field goal. Due to this goal, India took a 1-0 lead over China. After this, till the last minute, the Chinese players tried hard to equalize the score. But, due to Jugraj Singh’s goal, India won the final match with a score of 1-0 and won the title of Asian Champions Trophy 2024.
