The tremors of the earthquake that occurred near Pothing in Bageshwar were felt by some people in the border areas of Champawat and Lohaghat. The 2.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 12:14 pm lasted for four to six seconds.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was five km below the ground surface. The epicenter of the earthquake was 298 km from Champawat. According to NCS, the impact of the earthquake extended to Lohaghat, Champawat and Pancheshwar area. Due to the low intensity, only people on the second or third floor of buildings felt the earthquake.
