GST collection at ₹2.11 lakh crore in July 2026

GST collection for the month of July stood at ₹2.11 lakh crore. This is 15.4% higher than the figure from July of the previous year, when collections stood at ₹1.83 lakh crore.

For the month, total Central GST (CGST) collection was ₹39,835 crore. Meanwhile, State GST (SGST) contributed ₹47,881 crore, and Integrated GST (IGST) generated over ₹1.23 lakh crore.

Collection Trends: April–July 2026

During the first four months of the current fiscal year (April–July), GST collection rose by 10.1% to ₹8.4 lakh crore, up from ₹7.6 lakh crore in the same period last year.

State-wise Performance: Maharashtra Leads; 19% Growth in Gujarat and Telangana

Major states across the country showed strong GST collection performance:

• Maharashtra: Collected ₹32,210 crore in July, a 13% increase over the previous year.
• Gujarat: Collected ₹12,923 crore, registering 19% growth.
• Karnataka: Collection stood at ₹13,854 crore, a 12% rise.
• Uttar Pradesh: Collected ₹9,651 crore, showing 15% growth.
• Telangana: Reached ₹5,819 crore, recording 19% growth.

Decline in Collections: Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, and Hill States

Data indicates a decline in GST collections for certain states:

• Madhya Pradesh: GST collection fell by 10%.
• Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh: A decline of 1% was observed in Tamil Nadu and 5% in Andhra Pradesh.
• Sikkim: Recorded the sharpest decline, dropping by 59%. Himachal and Uttarakhand: Collections dropped by 22% in Himachal Pradesh and by 18% in Uttarakhand.
  The GST Department has clarified that these figures are provisional and may undergo minor changes when the final figures are released.
