TCS declares Q1 2026 results

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest IT company, has once again demonstrated its strength by reporting impressive results for the quarter ending June 2026. The company recorded growth in profit, revenue, and headcount. Despite global economic challenges, TCS’s performance has sent positive signals to investors and the IT sector.
Profit Rises to ₹13,349 Crore
According to the company, its net profit for the quarter ending June 2026 rose to ₹13,349 crore. In the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company had posted a profit of ₹12,760 crore. Total revenue also saw a massive surge, climbing nearly 14% to reach ₹72,275 crore. Revenue growth was also recorded compared to the March quarter.
Over 9,200 New Hires
A key highlight of the quarter was TCS’s large-scale recruitment drive. Between April and June, the company hired over 9,200 new employees, bringing its total workforce to 593,798. This indicates the company’s optimism regarding business expansion and new projects in the near future.
Momentum Maintained Despite Global Challenges
TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan stated that the company delivered a strong performance despite geopolitical tensions and global economic challenges. According to him, the company’s strategy, client trust, and focus on new technologies are driving continued growth.
Marginal Dip in Share Price, but Confidence in the Future Remains
However, despite the impressive quarterly results, TCS shares closed 0.52% lower at ₹2,047.75 on Thursday. Despite this, experts believe that strong financial performance, rising revenues, and large-scale hiring demonstrate that TCS remains one of the strongest companies in the Indian IT industry, and it is expected to continue performing well in the future.
