Stock market update: Sensex sheds 450 points
On the first trading day of the week today i.e. 30 December, 2024 the Sensex closed at 78,248 with a decline of 450 points. Nifty also fell by 168 points, it closed at 23,640 level.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 declined and 8 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 38 declined and 11 rose. At the same time, one stock closed without any change. In the NSE sectoral index, media, auto, metal and PSU bank closed with a decline of more than 1%.
The market was bullish on Friday
Earlier on Friday i.e. 27 December, the Sensex closed at 78,699 with a gain of 226 points. Nifty also rose by 63 points, it closed at 23,813 level.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 rose and 10 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 30 rose and 20 fell. In the NSE sectoral index, the pharma sector closed with the highest gain of 1.30%.
Indo Farm Equipment IPO will open tomorrow
Indo Farm Equipment Limited’s initial public offer i.e. IPO will open tomorrow i.e. on 31 December. Investors will be able to bid for this issue till January 2. On January 7, the company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE).
