The Tirath Rawat led state government has decided to provide water connections to all the citizens for Rs 100. Earlier Ex-CM Trivendra Rawat had made a provision to provide water connections to only the lower income group in the city for Rs 100. Currently, the middle and upper classes have to pay Rs 7018 for this. Urban Development Minister Banshidhar Bhagat has given the in-principle approval to the demand of providing drinking water connections to all sections for Rs 100, and said that this issue should be taken up in the cabinet meeting. Along with this, he also announced to give one crore rupees for the construction of office building to the new Nagar Panchayats formed in the state.
