In view of the alert issued in view of the heavy rain in the capital Dehradun, district magistrate has declared 1 day holiday in all public and private schools from class 1 to 12th on July 27, 202. Even today, the decision of the district administration in view of the rain proved right as it has been raining heavily since the morning and since the afternoon, heavy rain has started once again in the capital Dehradun late evening. District magistrate has said that the officials of the education department have been directed to follow the orders and send the information to the schools on time.
According to the weather forecast issued on 26th July, 2024 by the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun and the Sachet National Disaster Alert Portal of NDMA, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain and lightning/rainfall with thunder at some places in Dehradun district on 27th July, 2024. At present, in view of moderate to heavy rainfall in all areas of the district, the possibility of landslides increases in sensitive places. Therefore, in view of disaster mitigation, the district administration has declared a one-day holiday on 27.07.2024 in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers running from class 1 to 12 in the district.
