Schools to remain closed in Dehradun on Sep 2
Due to the red alert of heavy rain in Dehradun, a holiday order has been issued in public and private schools from classes 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centers today (September 2, 2025).
According to the order issued today, as per the updated weather forecast issued on 01 September 2025 by the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun and NDMA’s Sachet, National Disaster Alert Portal, a ‘red’ alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at some places in Dehradun district on 02 September 2025, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places / lightning with thunder / very intense to extremely intense spell of rain.
मौसम विज्ञान केंद्र, देहरादून के अनुसार देहरादून जनपद में भारी से बहुत भारी वर्षा का पूर्वानुमान है। जिसके दृष्टिगत जनपद में आज 2 सितम्बर अर्थात मंगलवार को सभी आंगनबाड़ी केंद्रों के साथ कक्षा 1 से 12वीं तक के विद्यालयों में अवकाश घोषित किया गया है।#schoolholiday #uttarakhand pic.twitter.com/YzTAFH9kBi

The order also states that it will be applicable not only for the students but also for the staff as well.
