The long-standing demand for direct rail connectivity between Ramnagar and Dehradun is set to be fulfilled soon. MP Baluni stated that the residents of Ramnagar—’the gateway to Corbett’—will now enjoy greater convenience in traveling to and from Dehradun. This will make it easier for locals to reach Dehradun for government and private work. Additionally, tourists and pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand will benefit from the direct rail service to reach Corbett National Park.

He mentioned that, initially, the train will operate two days a week on a trial basis. Depending on passenger numbers and feedback, the Railways may later increase the frequency of operations to four or five days a week.
