Two-wheelers going to Mussoorie returned midway
Despite the ban on entry of two-wheelers of tourists in Mussoorie on weekends, a large number of tourists tried to go to the hill station on Saturday, but due to the strictness of the police, they had to return midway. The police returned about three hundred and fifty two-wheeler drivers from Kuthal Gate and Kimari. Apart from this, about four hundred four wheelers without RTPCR and hotel booking going to Mussoorie were also returned.
Actually, on weekends, there is a rush of tourists in Mussoorie, Sahasradhara and Guchupani. Due to this there is a possibility of Covid outbreak. In view of this, the District Magistrate has given instructions to completely ban two-wheelers entry in Mussoorie during the weekend.
Only those four wheeler drivers who have negative RTPCR report, hotel booking documents and registration on Smart City Portal are allowed. Following the instructions of the District Magistrate, the police have put up barricades at Kimari and Kuthalgate.
From here only local two wheeler drivers are being allowed to go towards Mussoorie. Apart from this, 95 four wheelers and 190 two wheelers going towards Maldevta and 110 four wheelers and 80 two wheelers were returned from Asha Rodi without RTPCR negative report, hotel booking and registration on Smart City portal.
There was strictness in Sahasradhara and Guchupani too
After not getting entry in Mussoorie, tourists turned towards Sahasradhara, Guchupani and Maldevta, but here too they had to return disappointed due to the strictness of the police. The river and cave in Sahasradhara and Guchupani were banned for tourists. In Guchupani, only 50 tourists at a time were allowed inside for some time, but not allowed inside the cave.
According to the instructions of the district administration, all the police station in-charges were instructed to check by putting up barriers at Kuthal Gate, Sahasradhara, Kimari and other places during the weekend. No two wheeler drivers were allowed in Mussoorie on Saturday. Along with this, such four wheeler riders who did not have sufficient documents were also returned. This strictness will continue over the weekend.
