Uttarakhand weather update: Rain, hail in Dehradun and Mussoorie

The weather changed suddenly late Tuesday evening in Uttarakhand and it started raining heavily in the capital Dehradun and Mussoorie. Mussoorie witnessed light fog along with hailstorm.

On the other hand, it has started raining in Yamunotr as well as in nearby Kharsali village Phoolchatti, Narayan Puri, Jankichatti area. Due to which there was a slight drop in the temperature. This gave the people relief from the mild heat.

Temperature expected to rise

The mercury is rising rapidly in the month of February in Uttarakhand. In the next few days, the maximum temperature in the plain districts is expected to be five to seven degrees above normal, while in the hilly areas it is expected to be eight to 10 degrees above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the plain districts is likely to reach 31 degree Celsius. Whereas, in the hilly districts, the temperature will be around 29 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in the coming week. Due to increase in temperature by 8 to 10 degree Celsius in the mountainous areas, snow will melt in the high altitude areas. This will increase the water level of the rivers of Uttarakhand.
