Vehicle with 11 occupants falls in Ganga in Rishikesh, six missing

A big accident took place on Sunday morning in Muni Ki Reti police station of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. A Maxx vehicle coming from Sonprayag to Rishikesh fell into the river. It was reported that there were 11 people in the car. As soon as the information was received, the police and SDRF team reached the spot. The team has rescued 5 while search was on for 6 missing people. While three are missing. Other five people have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to information, it was reported at Rishikesh police station Muni-ki-reti outpost Byasi that a Maxx vehicle coming from Sonprayag to Rishikesh fell into the river below the national highway between Malakunthi bridge to Hotel Anand Kashi. There were 11 people including the driver in the vehicle.

As soon as the information was received, the police station and the SDRF team reached the spot. The team has taken out five people from the river. Everyone was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance. The team has recovered the bodies of three people. While the search for the three continues.

Rescued passengers told that all those people are residents of different places. They started from Sonprayag at eight o’clock on Saturday night. At 3 o’clock ahead of the Malakunthi bridge, the car became uncontrollable due to a sudden stone fall from the mountain in the rain and fell straight into the river.
