Urban Development Department will provide loans of up to 10 lakhs on 4% interest to women self-help groups in promoting self employment in urban areas of Uttarakhand. During a review meeting in the assembly on Thursday, Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik said that in order to promote self-employment in the urban sector, a loan of up to two lakh rupees will be given at the rate of 7 per cent on a personal level. While at a collective level, a loan of upto Rs 10 lakh will be provided at such rate. In this, a rebate of three percent will be given to women groups. He instructed the department to make an action plan for this. He said, a list of Self Help Groups should be prepared in the presence of Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat in Dehradun. Meanwhile, it was found on the housing scheme that applications were not showing up at the bank level. He instructed to convene a meeting of banks. Officials said that out of the one lakh, 28,900 households have been constructed in the state till date.
