Youth Festival 2024 inaugurated in Dehradun

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the State Level Youth Festival 2024 – 25 organized at Parade Ground Dehradun on Saturday. On this occasion, he inaugurated a total of 6 schemes worth ₹ 87 crore.

The schemes inaugurated by the Chief Minister include 200-bed hostel at Sports College Raipur, multipurpose hall, upgradation of boxing hall, construction of multipurpose hall in Haridwar, construction of spectator gallery parking at Haridwar Stadium and construction of roller skating ring under Parade Ground Sports Complex.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited the stalls based on sports related equipment. He also inaugurated the state level Pitthu competition. The National Games Uttarakhand Volunteer Portal for the upcoming National Games was also launched by the Chief Minister.

Wishing everyone a Happy State Foundation Day, Chief Minister Dhami said that on this special occasion we are launching the “State Youth Festival”. He said that this festival will provide a platform to the youth of the state to showcase their creativity, art and sports talent and will also work to promote culture, traditions and folk art. He said that it is very important to maintain a balance between traditions and modernity.

The Chief Minister said that this year the Yuva Mahotsav is being organized under the theme “Innovation in Science and Technology”. Our youth will be able to learn the latest technologies as well as develop themselves. In the festival, special focus has been given on innovation like “Sports Science”, which will prove to be helpful to our players in achieving an excellent position in the medal tally in the upcoming National Games. He said that our state has got the opportunity to host the 38th National Games. Which is a matter of pride for all.

The Chief Minister said that many competitions are also being organized in the Yuva Mahotsav on our rich folk culture and various subjects. In which young talents have also got opportunities from the block level to participate, which will give special benefits to the talents of our rural areas. He said that the youth power of Devbhoomi is talented, capable and extremely hardworking. The youth of the state have proved their worth in every field. The future of the country and the state depends on the youth power. Youth is the people, mind, strength, thinking and consciousness of India.

The Chief Minister said that our state is moving forward as a young state. The state government is setting new dimensions every day by taking tough and historic decisions in this journey. The state government has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to stop scams in recruitments and has also taken strict action against the culprits who cheat. In the last 3 years, a record 18,500 youths have got government jobs. Continuous efforts are also being made to make the youth self-reliant through many schemes like Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana and Chief Minister Yuva Protsahan Yojana.

He further said that the state government has made a special sports policy to strengthen the sports infrastructure in the state. Cash prizes are being given to the players of the state for earning medals. Special players are also being honored with Devbhoomi “Uttarakhand Khel Ratna”. The state government is also giving the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Dronacharya Award to honor coaches and trainers. “Mukhyamantri Udyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Khiladi Protsahan Yojana” are being provided in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is also providing out of turn appointment to the players of the state for achieving notable success in high level competitions. He said that it has also been decided to give an additional amount of money by the state government to the players of Uttarakhand who will win medals in the upcoming National Games, equal to the amount fixed for the prize.

Many folk artists including Pawandeep-Pandvaas will perform

Various cultural programs will be organized in this festival for the next four days from November 10. In which famous singer Pawandeep Rajan, Pandvaas Band, Meena Rana and Vivek Nautiyal along with many other folk artists will perform. Minister Rekha Arya said that an effort has been made to make this festival a program full of entertainment. In which information about culture, technology and science, motivational speakers and startups will be delivered to the youth.
