BCCI Announces Schedule for the Second Phase of TATA IPL 2026
The complete schedule for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (2026) has now been released. The BCCI has announced the schedule for the second phase. The BCCI had previously released the schedule for the first 20 matches, and on Thursday, announced the schedule for the remaining 50 matches of the league stage.
Ten teams are participating in IPL 2026, and all teams will compete for the title. In a statement, the BCCI said, “The remaining 50 matches of the league stage will be played across 12 stadiums in India from April 13 to May 24, 2026.”
According to the BCCI, the matches of the second phase will be held in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur, and New Chandigarh. The Board further added that as the tournament enters its decisive phase, teams will compete across various venues to secure a spot in the playoffs, and the competition is expected to intensify further during the latter half of the league stage.
The second phase of the tournament will kick off on April 13, 2026, with a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad, signaling the start of an exciting series of contests. The BCCI stated, “Fans can look forward to this thrilling phase of the tournament as teams battle fiercely to secure a playoff berth ahead of the final weeks of the league stage. The second phase will feature eight double-header matches, with afternoon matches starting at 3:30 PM IST and evening matches commencing at 7:30 PM IST.”
According to the BCCI, Punjab Kings will play their home matches in New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, with three of these matches taking place in Dharamshala. During this phase, Rajasthan Royals will play four of their home matches in Jaipur, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play three of their home matches in Bengaluru and two in Raipur. The final league match will be played on May 24 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals. The IPL 2026 will commence with a clash between the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Board announced that the venues for the playoffs will be declared at a later date.
