Trump wrote that full approval has been granted to open the Strait of Hormuz without any fees. He also mentioned authorizing the immediate lifting of the US Navy blockade.

In his post, Trump wrote, “Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow.” However, the post did not specify the details of the deal reached with Iran.

It was also not clarified when this arrangement would come into effect. Meanwhile, Iran has not outright rejected the deal but has stated that the US must first demonstrate trustworthiness before further talks can take place.

Iran’s three demands regarding the deal

Regarding the deal, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated, “We are ready for 60 days of negotiations, but the US must first fulfill its promises.”

Iran’s three main demands

  • The US must end military action and war-like conditions.
  • Maritime and economic sanctions imposed on Iran must be lifted.
  • Billions of dollars in Iranian funds frozen abroad must be released.
