Another nurse dead due to ‘nipah’ virus in Kerala; death toll reaches 11

Blood and other samples have been sent to National Viral Institute of Pune. Results will be available in a few days. “

On Sunday (May 20th), the victim who worked in Hospital researching the virus died due to this virus. According to the report, after being admitted to the hospital for treatment, the nurse also became a victim of it. Due to the fear that the effect of this virus would not increase, the dead body of the nurse was not given to the family immediately after the last rites were performed.

Official sources said that a special district workshop has been constituted under the chairmanship of Kozhikode District Magistrate. Director of Health Services Dr R. L. Sarita decided to set up a special Task Force after this meeting. A single window system has been arranged to monitor emergency treatment to deal with any contingency situation.

‘Nipah Virus’ spreads rapidly

In a letter to Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Lok Sabha MP and former Union Minister Mullappally Ramachandran said that some panchayat areas, including Kuttiyadi and Perambra, are in the grip of ‘deadly virus’ in their Lok Sabha constituency Vatakara. The MP also provided a copy of the letter here to the press. He said that some physicians have called it a virus named Nipah, while others have described it as a zoonotic virus, which spreads rapidly.
