Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derails in UP; rescue efforts on

A major train accident took place on Thursday in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Several coaches of train number 15904 (Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express) going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh overturned near Pikoura station of Gonda-Jhilahi railway section. As per reports, so far 4 people have died in the accident while many people are reported to be injured. Immediate relief and rescue work has been started.

Relief and rescue work started

According to the information, the accident took place near Pikoura, a short distance from Jhilahi railway station. It is also being told that the AC coaches of the train have fallen victim to the accident. As soon as the information of the incident was received, top railway officials reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started.

The railway administration and rescue team reached the spot and started action. The work of taking the injured to the hospital and restoring rail traffic is going on. On the other hand, the work of removing the derailed coaches from the track is going on rapidly. Due to the accident, the movement of trains on the Gorakhpur rail section has been disrupted.

Railway Minister took information, Union Minister of State reached the spot

After the incident, Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav took complete information about the rail accident and took information about the whole matter from Union Minister of State Kirtivardhan Singh. Along with this, the Union Minister of State was also instructed to reach the spot. The union minister reached the accident site and took stock of the situation. He talked to the district administration officials and took information about the injured and the dead.
