Asia Cup 2023: India vs Pakistan schedule announced
The ongoing controversy over Asia Cup 2023 has ended and its dates have been announced. The Asian Cricket Council has given information about the venue and schedule of the tournament.
The last time the Indian team played with Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup. Now once again the fans are waiting for the clash between the two teams. The dates of Asia Cup 2023 have been announced. Both the teams were placed in the same group and India and Pakistan can face each other twice during this tournament.
The Asian Cricket Council announced the date of Asia Cup 2023 on Thursday, 15 June evening. Due to the ongoing disputes between Pakistan and India, there was a delay in agreeing to organize it. The tournament will be organized in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from 31 August to 17 September. Pakistan has been able to host only 4 matches.
A total of 13 matches are to be played in the tournament, out of which 4 will be held in Pakistan while 9 matches including the final will be hosted in Sri Lanka. India had refused to go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, after which this hybrid model was suggested by the PCB.
Looking at the ICC ODI World Cup, this time the Asia Cup will be played in ODI format. Apart from India, teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nepal are participating in it. India has been placed in the same group with Nepal and Pakistan.
The group match between India and Pakistan will be played in September. Both the teams are strong and contenders to reach the knockout stage where they could meet again. The final match is to be played in Sri Lanka on 17 September.
