The state government has given instructions to test the quality of food items in the market areas in view of the Char Dham Yatra. In this sequence, under the direction of Food Safety Commissioner Uttarakhand and District Magistrate Pauri, a special campaign will be run for the next two days in the market areas located on the Badrinath National Highway in the district area. District Designated Officer, Food Safety and Drug Administration Pauri AS Rawat said that the mobile food laboratory FSW will be available for testing food items on 5th and 6th June 2025 up to Srinagar, Srikot, Farasu and Kaliyasaur.
During this time, primary testing of food items, flour, rice, pulses, oil, ghee, spices, milk and milk products sold in food establishments will be done under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Food Safety Mobile Food Analysis Laboratory. Also, food traders will be informed about the test report of their food items on the spot. Rawat said that all food traders can get the food items sold in their establishments tested for free in the mobile food analysis laboratory.
He appealed to the food traders to get their food items tested for free. He said that during this time, traders will also be given information regarding the quality of food items. The District Designated Officer said that the mobile analysis laboratory is equipped with modern equipment. It has the facility of instant testing of food items. Its objective is to provide safe and quality food items to the travellers and local consumers and to curb the sale of contaminated and adulterated food products.
