At the same time, Asha Nautiyal’s victory on Kedarnath seat has proved the myth that has been going on for years. That is, a woman candidate wins on this seat.

Women MLAs elected five times out of six from Kedarnath assembly constituency

Women MLAs have been elected five times on Kedarnath assembly seat so far. First of all, Asha Nautiyal was victorious on behalf of BJP in the assembly elections in the year 2002. While in the year 2007 also Asha Nautiyal was re-elected.

In the year 2012, Asha Nautiyal had to face defeat, but this time Congress candidate Shaila Rani Rawat won the election. The trend of making women win continued. In the year 2022, once again Shaila Rani was successful in registering victory as a woman MLA. This time again Asha Nautiyal has won as a woman candidate from BJP.
