Over 10 Lakh Devotees Reach Kedarnath Dham, Setting New Yatra Record

A massive throng of devotees is surging into the sacred Kedarnath temple. Meanwhile, the administration’s excellent arrangements are making the journey even smoother for the devotees. This is the reason why the number of devotees this year has shattered all previous records. On May 30 alone, more than 24,000 people offered prayers to Baba Kedarnath. In just 39 days, over one million (10 lakh) devotees have reached Kedarnath Dham. With this milestone, all past records have been surpassed.

By May 30, the total number of devotees who had offered prayers at Shri Kedarnath Dham had exceeded one million. The Yatra Control Room in Rudraprayag reported that between 5:00 PM on May 29 and 5:00 PM on May 30, a total of 24,066 devotees visited Kedarnath Dham. This figure includes 12,856 men, 11,088 women, and 122 children. Consequently, the cumulative number of devotees visiting the shrine this year has reached 1,000,497.

Administration Monitors Arrangements

During the Char Dham Yatra, a vast number of devotees from across the country are arriving to seek the blessings of Baba Kedarnath. The administration is continuously monitoring the arrangements to ensure the pilgrimage remains safe and runs smoothly. The surging number of devotees demonstrates that, despite adverse weather conditions and challenging geographical terrain, the pilgrims’ faith in Baba Kedarnath remains unwavering. Situated in Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods)—Uttarakhand—Kedarnath Dham has once again emerged as a pivotal center of faith for devotees from both India and the rest of the world.

Heavy Crowds Witnessed at Badrinath Dham as Well

Sohan Singh Rangad, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, stated, “The portals of Badrinath Dham opened on April 23, and to date, approximately 1.7 million (17 lakh) pilgrims have offered their prayers. Around 30,000 pilgrims are arriving at the two shrines daily. The pilgrimage is currently at its peak, resulting in the temple complex and surrounding areas being completely packed. The temple administration, in close coordination with the police force, is effectively managing law and order as well as the overall arrangements within and around the temple premises.”
