Temperatures drop after snowfall in Kedarnath in June
The weather in Kedarnath Dham has been continuously overcast in the month of June this year. On Tuesday, there was light snowfall in the Kedarnath temple and base camp area, due to which both excitement and surprise were seen among the pilgrims. However, as soon as the snow fell, it started melting on the ground, due to which there was no trace of snow in a short time. On Tuesday, the weather had changed in most areas of the district since morning. It rained in many areas including the headquarters in the afternoon, while snowfall started in Kedarnath at around 11 am which continued till 12:30 pm. ]
Despite the severe cold, a large number of pilgrims have reached the Dham to have darshan of Lord Shiva. The chants of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ are echoing in the Dham. Devotees also took videos and photos while enjoying the snowfall.
Meanwhile, the weather was bad since Monday in the high altitude areas of Chamoli district. Snowfall occurred in Hemkund Sahib for the second consecutive day. It snowed for the third time since the start of the Hemkund Sahib Yatra. Although the snowfall has been less on Monday as compared to Sunday, but for the last few days the weather is changing here after noon and snowfall is occurring.
