Defending champions India remained unbeaten in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2024. India registered their fourth consecutive win with a 3-1 win against Korea at the Moki Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir, China on Thursday. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored in the 9th and 43rd minutes to give India the win. Apart from him, Arijit Singh Hundal scored in the 8th minute.
The Indian team has already confirmed its place in the semi-finals. Talking about the match, defending champions India started the match brilliantly. Arijit Hundal scored in the 8th minute to give India the lead right from the beginning. Hundal converted Vivek Sagar Prasad’s pass into a goal. In the very next minute, captain Harmanpreet Singh doubled India’s lead by scoring from a penalty corner. This was Harmanpreet’s 200th international goal.
India will Pakistan in its next match. India’s Suraj Karkera, who was the hero of the match, said, “It is not easy to beat Korea, but today our mantra was to defend well. As far as pressure is concerned, there is nothing like that because the coach has given us the freedom to play our game. We have trained with Sreejesh for years. It is a big responsibility, yet we try to do our best.”
