Ind vs NZ Test series: India stage comeback on Day 3

India made a comeback in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test against New Zealand. By the end of the third day’s play on Friday, the team has scored 231 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. India is currently 125 runs behind New Zealand.

Sarfaraz Khan returned unbeaten on 70 runs. Virat Kohli was dismissed on the last ball of the day. He was caught by wicketkeeper Tom Blundell on the bowling of Glenn Phillips.

Kohli was dismissed after scoring 70, Rohit Sharma 52 and Yashasvi Jaiswal 35 runs were the other batters dismissed. Ajaz Patel took 2 and Glenn Phillips 1 wicket. Kohli and Sarfaraz shared a 136-run partnership for the third wicket.

New Zealand were all out for 402 in the first innings. The team gained a lead of 356 runs. On the second day of the first match of the 3-match series, New Zealand had bowled out India for 46 runs in the first innings. The first day’s play could not be held due to rain.

Rachin scored a century for New Zealand

On the third day on Friday, New Zealand started with a score of 180/3. Rachin Ravindra, who came to bat at 22 runs, scored a century. He scored 134 runs with the help of 13 fours and 4 sixes in 157 balls. Rachin kept scoring runs from one end and wickets kept falling from the other end. Daryl Mitchell (18 runs), Tom Blundell (5 runs), Glenn Phillips (14 runs) and Matt Henry (8 runs) were out in the first session. Tim Southee then made a record partnership with Rachin Ravindra for the 8th wicket.
