Indian eves beat Japan to win FIH Women’s Series Final

India has won the women’s FIH Series Finals hockey tournament (FIH Women’s Series Finals). Indian women beat hosts Japan 3-1 in the final played on Sunday. For the Indian team, drag flicker Gurjit Kaur scored two goals and Captain Rani Rampal scored one goal. With this win of women, India has won both the men and women FIH Series Finals. The Indian men’s team won the FIH Series Finals title this month.

Indian Women’s Hockey won a grand victory on Asian champions at the Hiroshima Hockey Stadium. Captain Rani Rampal gave India the lead in the third minute. After this, drag flicker Gurjeet Kaur scored a goal in the 45th and 60th minute to secure the team’s victory. The only goal for Japan was by Kanon Mori in the 11th minute.

The Indian team also qualified for the final round of the 2020 Olympic qualifiers during this tournament. It had achieved this right by reaching the finals of the tournament. The Indian team beat Chile 4-2 in the semi-finals. Japan defeated Russia and made it to the final.

Like Indian women, men’s team has also emerged victorious this year’s FIH Series Finals. The Indian men’s team defeated South Africa 5-1 in the finals played on Saturday (June 15) in Bhubaneswar. Japan defeated the United States 4-2 to finish third.
