Indian squad for Australia series announced

Team India squad has been announced for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia. BCCI announced Team India for the Australia tour 2024-25. Mohammed Shami is not a part of the team. The selectors have kept a mix of young and experienced players. The board has announced the squad for the T20 series against South Africa along with the Australia tour.
Prasidh Krishna has got a chance in the squad . At the same time, Akash Deep will also be a part of Team India on this tour. Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain of the team, while KL Rahul was once again trusted in the batting lineup. Fast bowler all-rounder Nitish Reddy has also been named in the squad, he will be a part of the Test series against Australia.
Washington Sundar returns
Team India’s all-rounder Washington Sundar who made his debut down under in 2021 has also drawn everyone’s attention in a single innings. Sundar took 7 wickets in the first innings of the ongoing second Test against New Zealand. He was also seen bowling brilliantly in the second innings. He has also been included in Team India’s squad. Why Mayank Yadav and Riyan Parag did not get a place in the team for the T20 series
The Indian team has to tour South Africa just after the end of the three-match Test series at home against New Zealand, where it has to play a 4-match T20 series. Team India has been announced by the BCCI for this tour, in which some new faces have been seen, while some names who were part of the team in the T20 series against Bangladesh have not got a place. Suryakumar Yadav will take over the captaincy of Team India in this series. BCCI, while announcing the team for the 4 T20 matches against South Africa, informed that Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dubey were not available for selection as both these players are battling injury. Regarding Riyan Parag, BCCI informed that he is currently in the Center of Excellence and is recovering from his right shoulder injury. Shivam Dubey was out of the team just before the T20 series against Bangladesh. Mayank Yadav and Riyan Parag played in this T20 series, after which they are now out due to injury.
