Team India has been announced for the Test series against Sri Lanka. For the Test team, Rohit Sharma has been made the new captain of the team, while senior players Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the team.

4 senior players miss out

Pujara and Rahane did very poorly on the tour of South Africa. Apart from the Africa tour, both the experienced players have not performed much since 2020. Therefore, both were shown the way out of the team for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. With this Rohit Sharma has become the all format captain of Team India.

Apart from these two players, fast bowler Ishant Sharma and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha have also been shown the way out of the Test team. Ishant has been troubled by poor form and fitness issues for some time, while Saha has been replaced by young KS Bharat.
