Rohit Sharma to lead team India in ODI and T20I cricket

Rohit Sharma will now be the new ODI captain of India. After the T20 World Cup, India’s Test captain Virat Kohli left the captaincy of T20 and Rohit was given this responsibility in his place. After this, Rohit has been made the new ODI captain of India in place of Kohli. Rohit will captain India in a three-match ODI series on the tour of South Africa.
BCCI officials believe that there should not be a separate captain for ODIs and T20s. For this reason Rohit has been given the captaincy of ODI. There is not much time left even in the 2023 World Cup. In such a situation, the selectors and BCCI officials wanted that Rohit should have enough time to build his team for the ODI World Cup.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Mr Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20I teams going forward.#TeamIndia | @ImRo45 pic.twitter.com/hcg92sPtCa

Virat became India’s ODI captain in January 2017 when Dhoni resigned from the post. He later told that he had taken this step to give Kohli time to prepare for the 2019 World Cup. Although Virat could not win the 2019 World Cup for India. India had to face defeat in the semi-finals of this tournament.
