State-Level Women’s Football Talent to Shine at 4th Tehri Cup 2026

To promote sporting talent in the Tehri Garhwal district, the 4th Tehri Cup Uttarakhand State-Level Open Women’s 7-A Side Football Competition 2026 will be held from March 7th to March 9th, 2026. The competition will be organized by the District Sports Office, Narendranagar, under the guidance of the District Administration, Tehri Garhwal, and in coordination with the District Football Association, Tehri Garhwal, courtesy of the Sports Directorate, Uttarakhand, at the sports ground of the Police Training Center, Narendranagar. District Sports Officer Deepak Rawat informed that women’s football teams from various districts of the state have been invited to participate.
These teams include Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Munsyari, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora, Haldwani, Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, and the Uttarkashi Football Hostel team. The competition will be played on a knock-out basis. Each team will consist of 10 members, including 9 players and 1 coach or manager. All teams will be required to bring their own sports kit and jerseys of the prescribed color.
Participating players will need to be residents of Uttarakhand or to have a certificate proving that their parents are employed in Uttarakhand. It is mandatory to bring the required documents, including an Aadhaar card, photo, and a permanent residence certificate in the prescribed format. If a player is found on any team from outside Uttarakhand, the organizing committee will disqualify the team. Arrangements for travel, accommodation, and other facilities have been made for the participating teams. Travel allowances, food allowances, and other expenses for the team managers and judges will be paid directly to their bank accounts through the treasury, depending on the travel fare, whether by ordinary bus or sleeper class train. Food and accommodation will be provided by the District Sports Office during the competition.
Players and team managers from the winning and runner-up teams will receive attractive prizes from the Sports Department, Tehri Garhwal. This competition will provide an important opportunity for the state’s female athletes to showcase their talent and establish recognition at the state level.
