289 students debarred from semester examination due to low attendance in UTU

Even semester exams of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand University of Technology (UTU) are to begin from June 9. 289 students have been excluded from the exam due to low attendance. The university has uploaded the list of these students on the UTU website.
UTU administration had earlier issued a notice to the principals of 12 affiliated institutes by providing the attendance list of the students. It was said that if the students do not attend classes regularly from now on, they will not be allowed to sit in the upcoming exam.
UTU’s Controller of Examinations Dr. VK Patel issued a letter to the directors and principals of all the institutes. He said that according to the ordinance of the university, it is mandatory for every student to have more than 75 percent attendance per semester. If it is found less than this, the student and the institute will have to give an explanation.
There are many students whose attendance is between 10 to 30 percent. Such students will not be issued admit cards for the semester exam. This time 289 students have been named in the list.
Students’ attendance is available on UTU’s UMS portal
Complete information of students is available on the University Management Portal (UMS). The concerned institutions have to give complete details of the attendance of their students every month. Based on the last attendance data received on May 8, the university warned the principals and directors of the colleges to give a strict warning to the students with low attendance, otherwise action will be taken against both the institution and the student at the university level.
