Season two of the Uttarakhand Premier League is going to start in September. For which the Uttarakhand Cricket Association has started preparations. Now the common cricket players of Uttarakhand will also get a chance in the Uttarakhand Premier League which is going to start from September. For which the Uttarakhand Cricket Association is going to start trials from August 4.
There is a great news for the cricket lovers of Uttarakhand. Now the talented players playing cricket in villages, fields, and streets will also get a chance to show their talent in the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL). The Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) has started a unique initiative in this direction. Under which non-registered players will also be given an opportunity to participate in this prestigious league.
For the Uttarakhand Premier League starting in September 2025, the CAU will organize trial matches in Garhwal and Kumaon regions. These trials will be held on 4, 5 and 6 August. Ayush Cricket Academy of Chhidarwala, Dehradun for the Garhwal region and Aminity School of Udham Singh Nagar district for the Kumaon region have been selected as the venues.
CAU Secretary Mahim Verma said that this initiative has been taken to promote cricket in Uttarakhand and bring out the hidden talents. In UPL, each franchise will have to include four such players in their team, who have not played in any board or affiliated tournament before. This will give about 25-30 new players a chance to play in this league.
The trial matches are open to both male and female players. There is no age limit in this. Observers, selectors and match officials will be present on the spot during the trial. Players will have to register by 8:30 am.
Mahim Verma said that we will keep sharing updates related to this event from time to time. UPL Chairman Indra Mohan Barthwal and Vice Chairman Umesh Chandra Joshi were also present on this occasion. This initiative can prove to be a big platform for those young cricketers of Uttarakhand who have been deprived of big opportunities till now.
